40 questions meme
From elsenet, 40 random questions. At least, it's described as being 40; I didn't count to see whether the list had mutated since that description was written!

Do you put ketchup on hotdogs? No. Sometimes I'll do mustard (spicy brown, not too much) and diced onions; sometimes chili. Cheese is optional with the chili but also tasty.
Choice of soda? Carbonation tastes almost undrinkable to me. Depending on context, I'll go with milk, water, or lemonade.
Do you put salt on watermelon? Nope. My partner does, and finds it odd that I don't. I can see the appeal; it cuts the sweetness and puts it in a slightly different category of "refreshing food", but that's not a category I like nearly as much.
Can you swim? I'm pretty sure the answer is still "yes" but it's probably been years.
How do you eat your steak? My preference is a tougher cut, well kneaded to tenderize it, and a reasonable bit of seasoning. (I much prefer the flavor of the tougher cuts.) Usually cooked medium-rare, but I'm pretty flexible there.
Favorite type of food? My usual answer to this sort of question is "I'm polyamorous because I don't do 'favorite'." I like many kinds of food, and particularly like variety.
Do you believe in ghosts? Not really. Though I imagine if the ghosts exist my not believing in them probably doesn't make much difference to them.
What do you drink in the morning? Orange juice, usually. Or water.
Can you do 100 push-ups? Sure. ...Oh, you mean in a row, without breaks of hours or days in the middle? Then no.
Summer, Winter, Spring, or Fall? Yes, please. The thing that bothers me the most about California bay-area weather is that we don't get the traditional four seasons; instead we just have occasional-rain season and no-rain season.
Your favorite animal? See above. There are delightful things about many animals. And weird things -- lobsters, for instance, have three teeth. In their stomachs.
Tattoos? No.
Do you wear glasses? Yes. I have since probably fourth or fifth grade. I am also right at the cusp of the age where the lens flexibility starts decreasing and I will soon need different prescriptions for far-away and up-close, though partly this is because my desires for "up close" are to be able to see pretty small things; I can read fine with my glasses on.
Do you have a fear? I tend to get quite uncomfortable around heights, though it's gotten a bit better recently. Which is good, since my desk at work is on the seventh floor about three steps away from floor-to-ceiling windows.
Do you have a nickname? Not really.
Favorite holiday? Did I mention not doing favorites? I mostly like Thanksgiving and Christmas, because those for my family are the times that we are particularly likely to be together as a family and celebrating traditions.
Beach vacation or mountain? Mountains in the summer and winter, beach in the spring and fall. I grew up in the mountains, and one set of grandparents and a lot of my extended family lived at the beach, so vacations were usually to the beach. Now either one would likely be mostly a "visiting family" vacation.
Rain or Snow? Oh, yes, please. Either. I'll take both if I really have to. I miss precipitation lots.
Can you change a tire? Yes, and have done so many times. The last time was in my then-partner's minivan, after I bumped a curb wrong and ended up with a flat.
Favorite flowers? Dandelions. They remind me of home-where-I-grew-up; we had lots of them.
Favorite hobby? This is also a case of not having favorites, though nearly all of my hobbies are some form of making things. Lately my interests have mostly been woodworking and model trains.
Sunrise or Sunset? I'm rarely awake for sunrise, but when I do see one it feels special.
Kids? Two, whom my partner and I co-parent with three other parents.
Favorite color? I will usually answer "purple" if asked to pick, though it was "red" when I was a child. Purple covers quite a range of lovely colors.
Favorite fruit? Are we still asking about favorites? Variety is good here. The peaches on our peach tree are just now ripe, and the figs are starting to get ripe, and both of them are lovely.
Can you whistle? Yes, but only barely.
Surgeries? I had wisdom teeth removed, and a colonoscopy, and also when I was a teen and went to a dermatologist about acne, he removed some blackheads with a tool that was basically a tiny ring on a stick (to press down all around the blackhead) and billed it as surgery because the insurance paid more that way.
Cheesecake or brownies? Yes, please. Both or either.
Shower or Bath? Showers, usually.
Last song you heard? My partner just played Home Free's rendition of "Ring of Fire" for me, because I hadn't heard it and it is excellent.
Broken bones? Up until a month ago, I would have said "no", but then I made the mistake of going down a slide on the playground with my kids and landing with my legs straight out in front of me, and I am fairly sure I cracked my tailbone. It has only this week stopped hurting when I sit "wrong".
How many TV’s in your home? Just one, in my partner's room.
Worst pain? I honestly can't remember.
Do you like to sing? Not really; it's not a thing I ever practiced enough to get good enough at to enjoy it.
Do you like to go camping? In theory, yes. It's been years, though, in large part because I don't like all the preparation for going camping. If someone else said "I will pack the tents and everything and you just have to show up," I'd be all for it.
What do you binge watch? Various things on YouTube, mostly. I like restoration or making-things videos that go into a lot of depth on all of the process.
Pumpkin or pecan? Assuming this is pies, pecan. My grandfather had a pecan pie with a layer of dark chocolate melted just under the top layer of pecans, which was delicious. But really my favorite traditional-Thanksgiving pie is sweet potato pie.
