A small problem of geometry.

This is the bookshelf that I've just cleaned off to put my engineering books on.



These are the engineering books that I would like to put on this bookshelf.



I regretfully suspect that this will lead to what we in the field refer to as a technical difficulty.

While I am entertained to see The Red Sox Fan Handbook in a photograph suggesting that it is an engineering book, I must cry moderate exaggeration.

(What, you think I wouldn't recognise it? It's my real book, with pages and everything.)

There are a few books in the picture which are not members of the set of engineering books which I wish to put on this bookshelf. They do, however, amount to a very small fraction of the books in the picture.

Some of them I do want to put on the shelf, though. I suspect that Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (pink book, top of the left-hand stack) is in that category, and it is definitely not an engineering book despite the fact that my undergrad university's library filed it with the other vehicle repair books in the engineering section.
