On recent accomplishments: On the GNU Compiler Collection version 4.2 "changes and new features" page, there is now a note stating that to make PDF documentation for GCC, one can simply type "make pdf" in the build tree, rather than having to go through a lot of complicated effort.

I put that there. (Both the note, and the feature it's referring to.)

I'm somewhat amused that the usefulness of having such a thing has been mentioned occasionally in the GCC mailing list since 1999, but nobody had actually done it. I think it took maybe three hours, most of which was documentation, testing, and the bureaucratic red tape of getting a patch approved that affected about half of the makefiles in the source tree.
