A lot of wordcount, actually; I've been starting on a writeup for a project I helped with last year (the reasons why the writeup is so delayed are a bit of a long story, which I won't go into here).... 2535 words, of which 238 are copied from elsewhere, and the rest are new.

And that's just since 8pm tonight. Whoever posted on rasfc that writing nonfiction is easier would appear to be correct, at least in this case, or else I can write faster than I thought.

Yay!

I don't know if non-fiction is universally easier; I've been known to get stuck on it. But I think it's less prone to the "what comes next?" slowdown, because it's usually more obvious.

yay, wordcount!

whether fiction or non-fiction is easier depends not only on the person writing, but also on zir state of mind and who-knows-what-else. such as target audience, since i rarely write non-fiction for myself, while almost all my fiction is not for others' eyes. it can take me a long time to fashion a piece of non-fiction in just the right way, while for fiction, as long as i am in the right mindset, i can write and write and write without a care. whether i actually want to be writing, that also has an effect -- i used to procrastinate a lot writing documentation for projects whose time had, shall we say, passed in my mind. (that taught me to write the documentation right away, even when i was terribly eager to get on with programming.)
