Ok. So, can someone explain exactly how it is that Peter Nero manages to overlay a fairly straight rendition of the climactic bit of the "1812 Overture" on top of an orchestral version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" ... and then to segue the whole mass into a swing beat ... and have it all work together?

This baffles me.
